Your Gmail account's password isn't just for Gmail. Gmail's password is shared by all the other Gmail applications such as Google Docs, youtube etc. So when it comes to secure your Gmail password extra concern must be taken. Gmail provides you a unique password verification feature that makes your Gmail password more robust and hack proof. This feature is known as "Two-Step Verification." This feature allows you to enable two step account verification process before your login to your Gmail account. Once you login to your Gmail account using this feature, Gmail enables you to login with the same PC for next 30 days without any verification. (this feature is optional). Two-Step Verification allows you to login from selected PCs into your Gmail account.
As per Google, 2-step verification adds an extra layer of security to your Google Account. Besides, your username and password, you'll have enter an unique code to sign in to your Gmail account.
